simpicity tractor

I have a 16gth simpicity tractor that I'm having trouble getting the electric clucth to work. I had a seal leaking that goes over the crankshaft and it leaked oil down on to the electric clutch is there a way of testing to see if it is bad

Trouble getting it to work, meaning it works sometimes and not others, or doesn't work at all? Put 12 volts to one terminal on it and ground the other terminal and if it engages, it's working. If not, it's no good. If you have problems with fuses blowing, ohm the leads and post the results.
