Briggs Intek 18 HP(2004) Stalls When Hot

Engine runs fine for awhile, then acts like it`s running out of fuel. It does it really bad when mowing downhill. You can flip the ignition switch off/on and it keeps running fine again for a short time.

I checked the fuel cap,it`s clean and the vent holes are open. I changed the fuel/air filters, and plug. The oil level is full. Could it possibly be a bad fuel solenoid? I don`t want to start buying and changing parts unless I`m reasonably sure. Any help is appreciated.

maybe a problem with a safety switch, maybe the seat one and going down hill you are shifting in seat enough for bad switch to think you are not in the seat

Sounds like junk in the carb. The trash can get sucked up to the jet, then when you switch it off, it drops back into the bowl until it gets sucked back up sometime after you turn it back on. Try cleaning the carb.
