Portable Electricity Generator for Outdoor Music Recording
Hi,
me and my brother really wanted to go outside and record music in nature.
i was wondering what would be the best portable generator for us to use.
i would be powering up a synthesizer, laptop(with usb hardware) and a keyboard controlling the synthesizer. All are AC voltage.
i was looking to spend no more that $250 and wanted something with VERY low noise. I dont know whether a gas powered one would be better or a rechargeable one? I would want it to last at least 5 hours with 2 -3 outlets.
any information would be of great assistance.
thanks : )

First choice would be powering equipment off of a 12 volt battery. I believe keyboards often have that as an option, and I'd check to see if other equipment will accept that.
Solid state equipment doesn't typically need high voltages. It just takes high voltages and steps them down to low voltages before converting the voltage to DC.
Second I'd check on using an inverter to convert 12 volt battery power to AC for any equipment that can't use 12 volts directly.
I'd think having a noisy generator around would drive musicians nutz.
