Info on electrics - Deere 14SE

I bought a Deere 14SE push mower that would not run. I was fairly confident that I could get it working - and I did. While fixing a variety of small things on the mower I discovered that this thing was once an electric start mower. The starter is still there as is the wiring harness. The original battery and brackets that held the battery are all gone. Does anyone know the operational voltage of the system? If I was to guess it must be either 6 or 12 volts. I am wondering if the battery bracket is still available?

Yes, I was familiar with that site. I wanted to test the starter before I spent a small fortune on parts.

I am not aware of any 6 volt systems being used in several years. You can still test the starter with 6 or 12 volts DC, DC doesn't care it just works harder with more volts. Test with 6 volts if any concern and if it kicks out and spins, the starter should be ok.
