craftsman mower with no spark

can anyone help? I have a craftsman riding lawnmower that wont start due to no spark. if i pull the ground off of my coil it gets spark someone said that was the safety but not sure how to fix the safety can anybody help? is it the one under the seat or is there another one?

The kill safety circuit will involve switches on PTO, seat and reverse and maybe the brake. Could be any of those or a short to ground anywhere in the circuit. Note that the PTO will have 2 switches, 1 for spark kill and one for starter circuit. Ditto if the brake is also a clutch.

Type in your model number at the link and you can at least look at an exploded diagram of all the safety switch locations on your mower.

That's not to say that the problem is limited to safety switches, but it is a possibility. May as well check for something obvious.
