Question craftsman dlt riding mower won't stay running

Just replaced the battery, however starts fine now.
However, when I engage the blades, or take my foot off the clutch the engine dies.

sounds like the seat safety switch. It thinks the seat is empty so blades in or clutch out kills the engine.

Red face

that makes sense, the seat was pushed up and it rained. Is this a fuse issue, or an actual switch

likely a switch. look under seat for wires. Depends on who made it could be switch with 2 wires or one wire on a insulated metal tang that touches metal when off seat. Normally if wires are off then it would not function. If wires joined together then it would always kill

Talking I am back to riding my mower

well, it was the plug under the seat. We unplugged it, allowed it to sit for a bit, replugged it, and were off and running.

thank you so very much:Beer 4U2
