Homelite String Trimmer Won't Start

I was given a two year old Homelite that will not start. It has spark, I pulled the flywheel to make sure the timing was OK, I changed the plug, the plug gets wet when I cank the engine. I even tried carb cleaner in the cylinder. Nothing. I mean it doesn't even sputter. If anyone has any ideas I'd sure like to hear them. Thanks.

Remove the muffler and see how many scratches are on the piston skirt. Someone may have run it w/ straight gas w/ no oil mix. This will be the death of it if so.

Thank you. I will take a look. I did remove the muffler to see if there was a lot of carbon (there wasn't) but don't remember looking at the piston.
