Sears Compressor

HELP! I have a fairly new craftsman compressor, 3 gal and 1 HP model 921.153101. It would only build to about 40 PSI so I read I probably had a blown gasket. Sure enough i removed the head and the gasket was broken in the center thin part between the chambers. I bought some gasket material at the auto parts store and traced and cut and it seemed to be perfect. Replaced but now I gain NO pressure and it seems intake is blowing out quite a bit than before. I am wondering if I di not get the reeds back in perfectly. The looked fine to me but the one is difficult to get perfectly as it just lays on the plate. I have removed and checked all gaskets and seals 4 times. Also checked with soapy water for ant leaks. Nothing.
Any suggestions???????
