Homelite gas trimmer will run but string head is barely turning.

My Homelite gas trimmer will run but string head is barely turning. It is a lightweight trimmer and I've never had this problem before. Any help would be appreciated.

Not knowing how old it is or, the model no., I'm speculating the flex shaft has busted, or the parts that each end goes into are worn.

Sometimes you just have to push the shaft back up towards the engine to get the flex-cable back engaged to the driveshaft.
