Husqvarna using to much gas????

hi.. i have a husqvarna lt2654 about 2 yrs old. When i first got it i could mow my entire yard with a full tank and actually have a little left. But this spring i went to crank it and it would not start. i tapped the carb with a pc of wood and it fired up so i opened it up and cleaned the carb and unstuck the valve. But now it seems it is using way to much gas, and i can smell like unburned gas while i'm mowing. When i mowed last time i filled it up and then used another half tank to finish. appreciate any help, and btw i have checked for leaks and have none. It is briggs and stratton intek v-twin engine. thanks

Sounds like the float needle valve isn't seating fully and causing a higher than normal fuel level in the bowl, I would start with replacing that along with the plugs which are probably black now and install a new fuel filter.

Good Luck
