Scotts Riding Mower

I have a Scotts rider made by John Deere. Model 1642H. I couldn't get it to start or turn over, so I removed the electrical plug to the mower brake, cleaned it and replaced. It started. Shut down and later tried to re-start, it wouldn't. Cleaned to switch plug again, several times, still no luck. I stripped the 4 wires and tried connecting them in all possible ways, thinking I could by-pass the switch, that didn't work. Serial# is GXS1642011949. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Sounds like you probably just have a bad connection or bad solenoid. Check with a voltmeter for power at the small spade terminal on the solenoid when trying to start it.
