Honda HT3813

Problem with PTO
When I engage the lawnmower blades the blades turn only at about 50%. I've checked the belt tension, pulleys and looks good. When I slow the engine down from say 90 % to 20 % it sounds like the blades are not following. I've also checked the belt tension on the front of the mower. Any ideas?

Hello arokces,

Sure sounds like you need to check your PTO clutch adjustments;

Good Luck

Agreed. In my experience with these, the clutch material is de-laminating from the clutch and breaking out, causing slippage. These mowers are pretty old now, but sweet and quiet running machines. If you need a clutch, they are pretty pricey last time I checked. Maybe/hopefully all you'll need is adjusting.
