weedeater drains gas
weedeater brand weedeater model GTI 18,rebuild carb and gas drains from tank thru carb,weedeaters runs great, has primmer bulb on it not sure if it came from factory because i had to drill a hole in the gas tank for the second fuel line to the bulb.seems to be mixed parts from another maybe

I would usually say I think the needle valve is not seating well, but if it's not put together the way it's supposed to be, there's no way to know what's going on. I suppose if the lines are connected properly to the carb, I would still think the needle valve is bad. If this happens to have a check valve in the throat of the carb, this could be leaking as well.

Interesting, all the GTI's, (the older Weedeater models) I've worked on didn't have primer bulb. Just repaired one a couple of weeks ago.
Was a different carb fitted to unit??
I would do as Cheese suggests......

i do think a different carb was fitted to the unit.i know as you stated that older Weedeater models didn't have primer bulbs.thats why i had to drill a hole in the tank to retro fit.i will check needle valve and check valve and report back
