Looks like you have a rear engine rider, 10hp Tecumseh, made for Sears by Murray.
Here's Sears IPL:

What spring are you talking about?

Posted By: Redstripe I have a Craftsman 10hp Model number#502255092. I am unable to find a manual for this model. Need help on where springs should go. Not able to understand diagram I found online. Manual not in print says Craftsman (Sears). This is the spring . Motion belt idle roller tension??? can not find how to connect. Thanks RedstripeI see a total of 3 springs in the diagrams. Two for the ground drive and one for the mower deck...not sure which one you are working with as they are all listed as "extension springs"
Motion generally seems to mean ground drive.
If you can find the reference number on the diagram http://www.searspartsdirect.com/part...200?pathTaken= Pretty sure someone here can get ya hooked up

Your unit was made my Murray.
go to this partstree.com url and start looking at IPLs.
Partstree.com - Genuine replacement parts for Toro, Echo, Husqvarna, Cub Cadet, Troy Bilt, Lawn Boy (Lawnboy), lawn equipment (lawn mowers, saws, blowers, trimmers, snow blowers) and Tecumseh, Kohler and Briggs and Stratton Engines.
they show the springs and if you look real close, where they are hooked to.
