key switch won;t shut mower off

key switch won;t shut mower off

gt2550 white hydro lawn tractor , 14A9816K190 m , E233H20375 s , replaced key switch thinking this was the problem , tractor will start with key but won;t shut down with key switch , i need to track this problem down , been having to choke it to shut it down , need a wireing diagram or some help in the right direction , thanks in advance

Might be the kill wire from the coil has burnt in two.....

i pulled the engine cover off today and there were no tabs on the coil for a kill switch , all i saw on the coils were the power in to them ,

there is normally no power into mower coil. Only connection is the kill wire and the plug leads. If you changed the key switch the replacement may not have same terminal functions.

well thats something i did;nt no , i thought all these yrs the coil had to be powered ,what powers the coils , the magnet on the fly wheel spinning , there was green wires to both of the coils and on the switch the G tab had green wire , so there must be a break in this green wire some where , the new switch was a factory numbered switch for this machine , next thing is how to chase this problem down , i got a wireing diagram from my local dealer today , but the only 1 he had for my mower did;nt match up to the pins on my switch , he could'nt beleave this either ,
