I need help finding the large gear the is centered on the auger. i cannot find this model number on MTD's website.

Sears Craftsman mini tiller transmission gear replacement

Good Morning, I have a Sears Craftsman Mini Tiller/Cultivator that has transmission problems. The gear is stripped. I paid $200 for the tiller and a replacement tranny is $200. Is there somewhere I can get this part cheaper, or can I get one made somewhere? Any help here is appreciated. I have stihl fs36 weedeater that was working fine and then wouldnt start back up. When pulling the cord it is jerky at spots, not smooth like it was. If I remove the plug it pulls smooth like it used to. Has spark, has compression, will not even start with a spray of ether. Hopefully this is a common problem with them.
