JD X300 Transmission Drive Belt

I need to change the transmission drive belt on my neighbors JD X300. The plastic flat idler pulley broke and as a result the belt got shredded. I know how the belt threads. I dont know how to get it off. Could someone please give me some instructions on removal and installation. thanks in advance

Shoot, I can't recall exactly what all has to be done. I think the steering arm has to come loose and the electric pto clutch has to come off. When the clutch comes off, the tranny belt pulley on the engine will come off too. Then the belt will be loose and able to come off the other pulleys. Hope that helps a little anyway, lol.

Cheese - thank you for the response. Does the pto clutch just unbolt from the engine or is there a special procedure for removing it.

Just remove the 5/8" bolt in the center of it, unplug it, and slide the entire thing down off the crankshaft. You'll have to keep the engine from turning when you try to remove the bolt. An impact gun makes the job easy.
