Craftsman mower starts then stalls

Hi I have a Craftsman push mower model 917.387370. The mower was working fine until I accidently caught the edge of a lawn garbage bag. It continued to run for a minute or so, then stalled. I found some plastic wrapped around the blade shaft, so I took that off. Now, it starts and stalls after a few seconds. I checked the air filter, looks clean. What could be wrong?

you could have tipped it the wrong way. If you tipped it with the carb down, you upset the float setting. You may have to take the carb off and reset the float.

tipped wrong way?

Hmm which way is wrong?? Any idea where I can get a diagram to show where the carb is? Or if someone knows the model, can give me a rundown of how to get to the carb & reset the float? Thanks!

Always tip it carb side up (where the air filter is). Here is a breakdown of your engine.
