mcculloch chain saw

i have a mcculloch pm605 chainsaw that stop oiling , bought a new pump, do i need to adjust the pump or is it set from the mfg?

First, and hopefully someone can confirm this, I read that there is a small screw on the top of the tank that adjusts the oil flow rate.

Second, and I wish I could find the reference again, I read somewhere that the auto oilers for this saw were rather weak and that you should NOT use regular bar oil in the saw. Apparently, bar oil taxes the pump and will cause it to fail prematurely. The person who wrote that suggested using straight 40w oil.

I have the same saw that does not run. It is a winter project to get it operating again.
