Snowblower front weight
I have a Toro 828 snow blower and am thinking about adding a weight to the front to stop kick ups. Has anyone added one and did it help ? Did you get the one from Toro or just bolt something heavy on the front ?
I am thinking of just finding something heavy to bolt on the front I can't see spending 100.00 dollars on a metal plate from Toro.

Just go to your local welding shop. They usually have metal "bricks". Just measure for the size you want and have a weight you want. They will cut it to size and may even drill the holes for you. Depending on the size & weight, you could probably get it for around $50.

when I go karted I had to add weight to meet class. I came across a few pails of car tire balance weights. I melted them into salmon cans with a bolt in the centre. When I hung a battery on my blower to work the chute it lifted the front so I bolted 2 of the salmon can weights on the top front.
