Snowblower Carburetor

I am replacing the carburetor on my 9HP Tecumseh Snow blower engine. On what I assume is the throttle assembly (Shaft & Plate) there a number of wholes, 2 large and 4 small. Which hole does the lever go go into? I have it in the large one, but the shaft seems sluggish when i attempt to move it manually.

Check the old carb, maybe you can see some wear on the hole were it used to reside. Have a good one. Geo

compression release

I have a briggs engine that I I am trying to get running again. I put on starter motor but the compression release valve isn't working to well. When I opened up the engine I noticed that it looked like the little bump for the compression release to have worn out or something. Here are my questions: should I notice the valve opening when I turn over the engine? Is there a way the compensate for a worn out bump in the compression release valve? Shpuld I buy a stronger starter motor?Read More

Just took my snow thrower from shed to garage. Put fresh gas and oil and unit started with no isues. As I was walking the unit to gargae the blower shut off. When I tried to restart the pull string is locked and electric start won't engage unit. I literally used this unit two times in 4 years. The unit is also leaking oil. One final question, this unit also had a recall can someon confirm the recall issue. I am so iritatied with this unit since we are expecting our one snow fall of the year in South Jersey and I will have to shovel. What a waste of $800.00.Read More
