Snapper snowblower model 4220 starts, won't keep running.

My very old snowblower will start every time, but shuts off at once unless I press the primer button. I'm not real handy so how do I check for a blocked fuel line, if that's the problem. I checked the vent hole in the cap, and it's open?

The problem is that the inside of the carb is gummed up. Carb needs cleaning.

Post the "engine" manufacturer, model, type etc, usually found stamped in the metal engine shroud usually by the spark plug. Then someone can determine what carb you have and how to best service it. Have a good one. Geo
