Weedeater spews gas/oil mix out of muffler when pulling cord to start it

Ryobi weedeater, new primer bubble, gas lines & spark plug, good compression, good spark, will not start and gas/oil mixture spews out of muffler when I pull the cord. Any thoughts? A bad gasket or seal in the carb?

It sounds like it's time for a carb kit.. The meetering diaghragm may be stiff & not allowing the needle to seat.There could be a speck of dirt under the needle valve' but I'm thinking the diaghragms. If you get the repair kit' it comes with a new needle valve.. Roger

Mtd snowthrower 310-600 snowflight 5/24 carb problem: help

Hi went to run my snowblower and the carb was gummed up. Ran it serveral times over summer ran great. ran carb dry but must have opened fuel shutoff again 2 monthes ago...stinky sludge in float bowl, oops "o" ring on low speed jet has crumbled and also got into float bowl. Have spray cleaned out carb and now the engine runs but "Hunts", a lot ...and not responsive to throttle lever movement, seems to like to run with almost full choke Engine: HS50 67160b carb looks like a 632107, series one carb Adjusted float ,but may have over shot the mark, it is level to carb body. Too rich? Plug is black Do I need a new carb kit to replace the welch plug inside the carb? or will spraying do the trick? the low speed is 1.5 turns out, again too rich? PBRead More

Generators w/ Gen Head that includes a shaft

Hello all, Here is the story I have a 14hp Kohler Vertical Shaft Engine mounted on an old commercial mower frame. I thought this would be a great generator as it would be easy to move since it has its own transmission and I can turn the generator off an on using the magnetic clutch for the belt. So after looking for old generators people may want to get rid of with bad engines, I came across a big issue, most do not have a shaft protruding from the gen head that I can use for a pulley. I may need to upgrade any bearings in the head doing this [B]Question 1: [/B]So is there any generators out there that have a gen head which has its own shaft protruding?
