Thumbs up craftsman gt with 20hp kohler command engine

hi i am returning to get more help if i can your moderators have helped relieve part of my headache on this tractor . what i am looking for and can not find is a parts diagram for a 20hp vertical shaft kohler command model is cv657s , i have seen other sites list another set of numbers after that i figure is the serial , but i currently do not have them for this . i had a hard enough time getting these number off the sticker as the tractor had sat out side for a unkown amount of time and has faded the sticker almost to the point of not being able to read it . also i was wandering if anyone could help me locate a flywheel for this i prefer used as from all the calling and internet searching i have done , the cheapest i have found one is 130$ and thats WAY out of my price range . besides i only paid 150$ for the complete garden tractor . im located in indiana . i have posted for the last 2weeks since getting this on 2 different sites to get one , only to get ppl that have no clue what they have e-mailing me or ppl that are willing to do trading but then expect me to drive 3+ hrs to them ( ONE WAY) then get mad after i explain i cant afford to drive that far to get the parts , cause if i could afford to drive that far then i could buy the parts i need and get it over with ! sry got carried away ... PLEASE HELP AND THANKS IN ADVANCE ! this site / forum rocks ! http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...ons/icon14.gif

The other number is the spec number. Have you tried looking up the mower on the sears site to see what engine they have listed for it?

yes i have cheeze . but on their page it dont list the exact motor . to get the flywheel part number i had to call them and have them look it up as it wouldnt list any motor parts just showed the motor its self and i am needing a parts break down of the motor so i can order a vaccum hose i forgot i needed for the motor ... i spend bout an hr on the internet googleing any combination of words to try to find the parts list . partstree.com has the listings for the motors ( BUT NO PARTS SHEETS ) that start with cv675s . id rather not deal with sears as they want triple the price on some parts . the hydro filter they wanted 32$ for it and i got it for 11$ .

Couple of things that might help us help you
First, in your first post you said the model is
cv657s
Then in your last post your posted it was
cv675s
So which is it
Next post the model number of the tractor it is on, as well as cylinders and arrangement IE:single vertical, twin V etc.
Also make sure it is a Command, Command Pro, Courage etc.

Then just for grins, lets see if I should buy a lottery ticket See if this manual is for your engine

ohh sry glad you caught that bfhfixit .. i didnt catch that .. its is 675s tractor model is 917.272962 20hp kohler command vtwin vertical shaft .... from what all the shops told me price wise , its 160$ new and i cant afford anything even remotely close to this . i did however find one on ebay for 130$ but that is still way outta my reach . i have posted on several sites similar to craigslist but all i get is idiots that dont know what they have and want me to drive 3+ hrs to see if what they have is what i need .... or after talking to them the first time ill never hear back from them, when they are supposed to send either pictures of what they have or part numbers ... so i said heck with it and came back here to ask for all of your help again . THANKS

Did you look at the manual I linked to? Does that cover your engine?

thanks bfhfixit , thats the same one i came across and it didnt have a parts list or a break down from what i seen . witch is what i am tring to find so i can get part numbers for some of the other parts to the motor i need . one inpaticular is the breather tub on the left side faceing the tractor front . i believe is the fresh air tube for the carb . just not 100% sure , other then i know is a breather tube and i need to replace it since its cracked . it looks similar to the one in the first pic of the manual ... im just not 100% sure since i dont have the tractor right here to compair the 2 pictures but i believe the motor in the picture is newer then mine . as mine has a cover that is raised off the top of the breather that comes across the front of the motor and toward the back across the top a few inches .

Here is a breakdown of your engine from the sears site
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/part...cv675-7&blt=11
The spec # is 77549 and is a craftsman OEM engine, made by Kohler
You can find the part numbers you need then most likely order or purchase them wherever you choose.
