Tecumseh 10 hp faulty Low Oil Switch

The Low Oil Switch (LOS) is faulty and is keeping my Champion (SEARS) generator from starting. We are in the middle of a blizzard and they calling for ice and lots of power outtages. Can this be bypassed temporarily until I can get it fixed properly?

Disconnect the wire going to the oil switch. It grounds out the coil to kill the spark.

Just keep an eye on the oil level.

Thanks, I got ambitious or something like that. Decided to pull the sensor, cleaned it up, put it back in, filled with oil. Started quickly, ran for 30 seconds then died and now the LOS is at it again.
