Hello, I am new to these forums. I stumbled across a group of 9 ignition coils. I have no idea what they will work for i have an album of 2 photos for each coil if you guys could help me identify them I would appreciate it so much!

Looks like they are for small engines like a Briggs motor seen here.

The first 3 and last one look to be kohler or tecumseh, the rest are for briggs. What specific engines they fit is unknown without part numbers.

Usually they are stamped in thin paint/ink on the black part of the coil if I recall correctly. Sometimes you can clean them up and see it, most times it is gone.

What happens if they are gone haha? Can the briggs coils match up to pretty much any smaller briggs like 2-10 hp?

No, coils are different on different size and model engines. A coil from a 3 horse doesn't fit on an 8 horse.

No, redrilling doesn't work because the curvature of the armature legs is different because of the different size flywheels they fit up to and also because the laminations of the coil make it very difficult to drill, and usually the holes are close enough that you would have to drill half the hole, instead of a new hole, which is nearly impossible.
