Craftsman Auger

Replacing a set of craftsman augers on my snow blower, notice the holes for the shear bolt has a big hole with a bushing and a small hole. The augers that Im putting on fit fine but have the same size hole for the shear bolt 1/4 inch on both holes. Should I just leave it this way or drill one side out like the ones that came with the machine, not sure way there is a big hole with bushing and small hole 1/4 inch. on the original Thanks

Auger

The replacement augers are probably a product change, or just whats available. If the shear area on the bolts line up whith the spot where the auger and the shaft meet then your OK. If not go to any sears repair center or sears parts.com, failing that I have made my own bolts by using any mild steel bolts of the right length and cutting about halfway through at the spots where the shaft and te auger tube Sid
