Self Propelled walk behind mover goes slower than it use to?? Craftsman
Craftsman self propelled mover model #917.376780
I have had this mower for maybe 4 yrs now. It was a good bit slower toward the end of last year than it used to be. I tried replacing the belt and adjusted the tension on the cable that engages the drive.
This is a front wheel drive mower. Walk behind
I am planning on tearing into it a little more and try to find why it is so much slower than it used to be but thought I would see if I could gets some ideas or input from you all. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My stepson might have the same mower. Besides the tension on the belt, the plastic teeth on the wheel are bad to wear out. Seems like I've cleaned out all the grass/debris out of the housing that covers the drive - and that made an improvement in it's pulling power.

The plastic teeth that you are talking about, are they in the wheel assembly or the gearbox? thanks
