Post Ryobi riding mower won't start

Kohler 19 engine. The mower sat without being started for 2 years. I've replaced the battery, in-line fuel filter, drained the gas and put new in, replaced the spark plug, and added oil. It would not start with all of that. I then sprayed the carburetor with cleaner and it attempted to start. As long as the carburetor is sprayed, it will start/run but the moment the spraying stops, the mower cuts off. I then sprayed the carburetor with starter fluid. As of last night it still wouldn't start. I have not taken off the carburetor. I don't have much money and I'm not a mechanic. Any ideas?

Carb is dirty or it may have anti-afterfire solenoid on bottom of carb bowl which is not being activated or is stuck closed.
