Honda Generator Start Problems
Hello,
Im new to this forum so if Im leaving specifics out please let me know. I have a 11000 portable honda generator that I use as a back up power source for my home. A few days ago I pulled the unit out from my garage to start it and it wouldnt start. I have never had this problem for the last three years that I have owned it. My battery is dead, but I have the pull start which I was using to start it (always). The generator was stored all winter long in my garage. gas stableizer was put in the 87 octane fuel just like always. When I try the pull start it won't do anything. Need some subjestions on a fix, strom season is closing in. Thanks in advance for any help.

Not to sound funny but did you check the on off switch? I do that on my gen.
Did you run the engine with the stabilizer before winter? I usually drain mine dry.
Did you check the spark plug?
Do the easy stuff first before you start taking the carb apart.
I am not a engine guy but it would seem its fuel or electrical related.

Pour a small amount of gas into the spark plug hole or down the throat of the carb through the air filter housing and see if it will start up and run for a moment. If so, you know the problem is fuel related and then I would clean the carb (assuming the fuel shutoff is turned on).

assuming the fuel shutoff is turned on
My friends swing around and yell " ya got the fuel on??" Doohhhh!!!!
Yes check the common on/off stuff first.
My gen has two off positions on the pet****. Why, I dont know.

I haven't done that on my bike yet, but I have done that on other things. It's a "smack yourself in the forehead" moment.
