John Deere L120 won't start

I have a JD L120 riding mower and last year, it started to act up and die after I started cutting my lawn. this continued, like it would just loose power and not atart back up, after it got hot.

I have cut the grass a few times this year and same prblem started up again. Now I can't get it to start at all. The engine cranks, but will not turn over. new battery, trcikle charged when not using, new plugs. no difference. Tried to jump w/ my car, still will not turn over.

BS 20 hp model 406777, type 0139 E1, code 040226YG

I'm guessing the carburetor is flooding and filling the cylinders w/gas. Take a spark plug out and see if it's wet. If not, you may need to inspect the valvetrain.
