Sears 20 OHV B&S wont start, will fire on ether,wont run

Neighbors Sears rider 20 OHV, have spark ,fresh gas fuel pump works , will turn over ......
will not fire , will fire on staring fluid in the carb. doest seem like its getting fuel in the carb to stay running.....

How do I clean the ports on this?
what else can we do..........?

It may have an anti-backfire solenoid on bottom of carb bowl that is not working.

38racing is correct. Have you confirmed gas to the carb? I mean actually see a steady flow of fuel.
If so, remove the bowl. Does it have gas in it?
Hold your hand over the throat of the carb as you turn it over and see if it will suck some gas through.
If you can't get gas through and there is fuel in the bowl, rebuild or give it a really good cleaning.

Mantis starts but wont stay running.

I have a four year old mantis tiller with a two stroke single cylinder engine with a ZAMA diaphragm model C1U type carburetor. It starts Ok, but wont run. If it runs, it won't run high speed, like its flooding and it dies. Pull and choke, pull and no choke and it starts but wont stay running. On year two the carb was rebuilt (at a shop) because I left fuel in the tank over the winter, bad boy. I did it this year again so I put the gasket and diaphram in (rebuilt). Good job, it started but wont stay running. Muffler is not clogged. The fuel line is sucking air, I THINK. from the fuel filter and tu beassembly it plugs in the 3-hole plug that exits the side of the fuel tank. A separate 3 inch tube goes to the intake of the carb. Is this suppose to be one continuous hose, no break in it? Looks like at one time it was one 8-inch tube, fuel filter to carb. Could this be causing an air leak? Tubing is sort of brittle. Hi all, Have been a lurker for some time now. Decided to join...Hopefully someone can help me with my problem. I was cutting my grass and a shoulder bolt backed out of the front wheel adjustment which has a rod that goes across from wheel to wheel. Well once the bolt backed out, the rod dropped and hit the blade. I didn't think anything of it then. I turned it off and checked it out. Had the local lawn mower store order me a shoulder bolt. The bolt came in, I put it back together with some loctite. Fired it up and proceeded to start cutting the grass. About halfway into cutting my lawn, it back fired and wouldn't start back up. And it's really hard to pull. After reading a few of the threads concerning backfire on here, it looks like it may have sheared the flywheel pin. I took the top part of the mower off and there is NO key way inside of the bolt that you take off to get the flywheel off. Is that normal if it shears it off? If so, can I just replace the key? What about timing? Do I need to put it back in timing after replacing the key? Hopefully it didn't bend the crank. I'm pretty sure it has the magneto setup. The mower is only a few months old.
