homelite versa tool

i have the Trimlite model UT20004A. had it for years ran good. I can get it to start and it will idle on all speeds. it will trim on speed 2 but will not trim on speed 3. it just sputters and dies.

Check the fuel lines and primer for cracks or wet spots. If any are found, replace them. If that's not it, the carb needs to be cleaned. You might try opening the high speed screw a tad (the one of 2 screws side-by-side that is closest to the air filter side of the carb).
