craftsman/(tecumsuh) 143.996510 will not start
I have a craftsman model 143.996510 mower. [I] hit a root and sheared the flywheel key. I have replaced the key but the mower still will not start. any suggestions on where to look next?

Do you have spark? If yes, you might recheck the flywheel key...if it was not torqued properly, or lubed or....it may have sheared again.

Geo - the blade is on and it is strait "not bent"
BFH - I have not checked for spark as it was running fine when the key was sheared. I will pull the plug and checkfor spark before verifiing the key is still intact/properly installed.

OK it has spark and the new flywheel key is still intact....I think I will try dissasmbling the carb and cleaning it.
