Related problems on Craftsman lawn tractor?
I have a 2004 Craftsman DLT 3000 tractor that developed a problem late last season. It was close enough to the end of the mowing season that I didnt look at it til now.
1st problem was that it wouldnt move in reverse at all, and was very 'jerky' when moving forward - Hydrostatic transmission. I suspected a drive belt, so I replaced that today. No change in behavior. Still wont move in reverse, and the drive lever has to be better than half way through the forward position before it moves, and then it is extremely jerky.
2nd problem was that the mower deck wont engage. Doubt that they are related, but really not sure where to start looking at this one. It seems like the belt is in decent shape, and it is a manually actuated drive on the blades(not electrically controlled).
Any help is MUCH appreciated!
