weedeater starts for few seconds

weedeater featherlite xt-200. started loosing power then wouldn't stay running. has new plug. when pour gas down carb with filter off it will start for a few seconds then quit so starving for fuel. replaced fuel lines cause they cracked when trying to mess with it. took carb apart carefully since don't have rebuild kit. cleaned with spray carb cleaner and compressed air. put back together as gaskets came apart without tearing and every thing looked good. tried without fuel filter in place to eliminate that as problem. same issue. not sure if they make rebuild kit for this. could it be something else besides carb?-do these have reed induction and could something be wrong with reed and not letting it create vaccuum to suck the fuel in?

No reeds. The problem is most likely still in the carb. Try opening the mixture screw a little.

If a carb kit is available, that's what it'll take to fix it,, Cleaning these little carbs without puting in a kit is kinda like washing your feet with your socks on,, sometimes it works, but if you want it right, take off your socks (Or put the kit in the carb) LOL,,, Roger
