Is it the starter? Cub Cadet 2135 w/ Kohler Engine
#1

I have the cub cadet 2135 ... I was unable to locate the engine serial number, they claimed it was on the right side of the engine blower housing, but they don't show where that is.:NO NO NO:
For a while the engine wouldn't start right off the bat ... I would get a series of mechanical clicking noise, after a few tries it would start ... well I tried to start it today ... got the clicking noise a couple of times then nothing ...
I can't get it to start ... I turn the key and silence
I get a amp light on the dash board ...
I tried cleaning the battery terminals with no result. So could it be the starter gone bad?
Anyway I can check it to make sure?

Load test the battery 1st,, If you have clicking noises, to me it sounds like a low voltage issue.. Don't measure the batt voltage with a voltmeter, Load test it to simulate operating conditions & post the results.... Roger

Sure sounds like dead battery syndrome.
If you have jumper cables, try to jump start it from a car - engine off on car. If it fires right up, you have your answer - replace the battery.
