Loose drive belt

After changing the deck drive belt on my John Deere L120, the tension doesn't seem right. The belt has a lot of play in it, and when I pull the PTO knob it vibrates really badly. It also smells like the belt is burning. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like a pulley is frozen or the belt is rubbing something or over the top of a belt guide instead of between it and a pulley.
