New Briggs and Stratton motor on old snapper...ISSUES. PLEASE HELP!
Hello.
I recently threw a rod on my old Snapper. I replaced the motor with a new B&S PowerBuilt 17.5 HP engine. After installing, (and filling with oil) I tried to crank it up. In my haste I had forgotten to activate the pressure switch in the seat. It turned over 4 or 5 times, turned slowly, and then wouldn't turn at all. I found out that I had apparently ruined my ignition relay, because if I jumped out the terminals, the starter would attempt to start the engine. I have tried turning the crank manually by twisting the drive plate/shaft with no success. The manual is of no help. Somebody please help me!!

Check the battery condition. If you don't have 12.5 volts or so when trying to crank, it's time for a new battery.
You can try to jump start it off a car battery. Make sure the car is turned off and the cables are hooked up correctly.
