Briggs & Stratton G500 series 158cc 1500 lawnmower sputtering

It seems to be cutting the grass fine but it revs normal then slows, revs normal then slows, and does this the entire mowing session.

Oil level is fine, should I change the oil?

Changing the oil never hurts but I doubt it's causing your problem. You could also have a dirty or mis-adjusted carburetor.
