Weedeater XT-200

I had to replace the primer bulb on my XT-200. I need to know if a kind of sealant is needed to keep it from sucking air and keeping the fuel from being drawn from the tank by vacuum

Its supposed to suck fuel from the tank (thru the carb to purge air) No sealant is required... If it's sucking air, & not fuel, I'd suspect the fuel lines or the carb kit ,or both.. If the primer was rotton, the bad gas has rotted everything else in the fuel system... Sorry,, Roger
