are there benefits or disadvantages to buying a CARB rated generator?

Besides I assume better emission and higher price. Assuming of course you don't live in CA.

No advantages that I know of, and there are likely disadvantages. CARB stuff may run leaner, hotter, and with less power than non-CARB rated stuff. It likely has a shorter average engine life, more valve problems, and more carburetor problems in general. Thankfully, I don't live in Kalifornia, so I don't have to worry about it .

Right i'm no in CA.

But i thought maybe if they are build better... it's worth the extra 50 bucks. But i guess not
