bolens gas trimmer

I have a Bolens gas trimmer, Model BL110, and I am having trouble with the cutting head. There is a cable that runs from the motor to the cutting head and it keeps slipping out and therefore the head won't spin. I've had it apart three times and each time when I start it the cable again comes out. Any ideas what could be causing it? Could there be a missing part somewhere? It's the first time I had it apart other than changing the cutting cord.

Loosen the clamp that holds the boom to the engine and slide it into the engine more. It has slipped out enough to disengage the cable.
