Honda riding mower model #3011
I am borrowing my neighbors mower for the first time here and now it won't start. It figures that you borrow something and that is the time it decides to break. I just moved to this town and this is very frustrating.
When you turn the key, you just hear some relays clicking. There is a black relay pack mounted just behind the motor that has two plugs going to it. The connectors are in great shape, no corrosion and they were plugged in all the way. Not sure what to do here and I don't want to give it back not working, please help!

Make sure the blade is turned off all the way. You might turn it on and back off the cycle the safety switch a time or two. Do you hear the solenoid click when you try to start it?

I have cycled the blade engagement a few times and still nothing. I can't hear the solenoid activating on the starter. It seems like the starter is not getting the trigger it needs and I'm not sure what the trigger wire is on the starter to test with a DMM.

I believe that mower has a separate solenoid from the starter. Test either of the small wires plugged onto the solenoid near the base for 12v when trying to start it. You might ask the neighbor if they ever had this happen before... you never know... it might be a common occurrence and he might know exactly which connector/switch/fuse, etc... is giving the trouble.
