Help! Snowblower won't start.

MTD Yard Machines (24") 179cc Two-Stage Snow Blower
Model: 31AM62EE700

I've had this for 3yrs and to prepare for old man winter here in Chicago, I tried start it up and it cranks and starts then dies after couple secs. Many people said I may need to replace the spark plug so I did but same thing's happening. I put fresh gasoline and oil's new too. Does this mean I'd need to clean out the carburetor? I'm not very mechanical and don't even know what it looks like? Any suggestion before I seek a professional?

It certainly appears you need to have the carburetor soaked and reconditioned. This machine has an engine made by the equipment manufacturer and they should have kept their hands out of the engine game. In addition to soaking, my shop has found that you need to enlarge the main jet, on this particular engine (365-SU) using a #61 drill bit to get these to run off from part choke.
