Hi all, Picked up a John Deere stx 38 the other day. It runs and drives good. The problem I am having is when I start it with the key, the starter won't disengage. I have been using a jumper wire from the battery to the stater right now. I thought it was a bad ignition key, but I tried a couple of JD ignition switches that I know are good and get the same result. I took the wire of of the starter and cleaned that connection with sandpaper. The battery positive terminal is pretty corroded. I am going to change that today. Am I missing another possible source of the problem? It has a Kohler 13hp engine. Thank you, Cory

I bought an older Craftsman 8/25 trac drive, model 768.8849. It runs great and all but I noticed it would only go forward and not in reverse. I opened up the bottom of the unit and noticed that when you put it in reverse that the hex shaft bearings were worn/broken allowing for play in the shaft, and therefore not making contact with the gears when you put it in reverse. I went to sears online and you can't make out the part numbers on the diagram. Called Sears Parts Direct and they used the same online diagram I did and they couldn't make out the part numbers either. Does anyone know the part numbers for the hex shaft bearings?
