Sears Snowthrower sparking
I have a 8 year old sears 2 cycle snow thrower. Its a one stage with the rubber paddles. This morning I noticed its revs are alternating. It will go fast then slow fast then slow. It will surge when it hits a snowy area.
My main concern is that I am seeing sparks under the plastic shroud on the left side. Any ideas what this may be?
Thanks,
Rob

Welcome to our forums!
There are many possibilities but the only way to know is to remove the covers and take a look.
You would do well to not use it until you fix it otherwise it may come apart and not be repairable.
It is possible whatever is binding and causing sparks is causing the surging but you need to take care of the mechanical problem first.
