Lawn mower left tilted upwards ie raised from the back facing forwards

Left lawn mower tilted upwards and went to start it yesterday and oil spat from exaust, big plume of blue smoke came out and it reved once then died. Same pattern repeated a few times. Left it for a bit and oil seems to be leaking from somewhere and collecting under the engine. Any suggestions?

Thanks is advance

would be good to have more detail like engine model etc. Check crankcase and see if it's full of gas due leaking needle/seat.

Check the air filter for oil saturation, check oil for for gas (petrol) in the oil, clean oil off of spark plug, and try again. It will smoke and blow oil out until the oil burns out of the exhaust and cylinder.

Remove your spark plug. Grab the pull cord and yank on it a few times. Clean the spark plug and put it back in. Start it up and let it run for 5 mins or so and all the smoke and stuff should clear out. What you did when you turned it up like that is allow oil to fill into the cylinder.

And if you have to tilt it, make sure the spark plug is pointing up. And make sure the gas tank is empty.
