John Deere 212 electric deck lift problem

Hi,

I bought a John Deere 212 a few days ago. It has the electric mower deck lift on it. It has been working since I brought it home. I was lowering and raising it just to set the mower deck height. After about 5 times of up and down, it stopped working. Now it just makes a click when I push the lever to lower it. I did make sure my battery was at 100% in case low battery might cause it not to work. Any ideas on what I need to look for to fix this?

Serial number on tractor is C212E 058145M

Thank you,
Cory

I'd look up the phone number for warranty service if still under warranty.
If not in warranty, does it go up and just not down?
Check for a fuse that may be blown.
Are you getting 12v at the deck lifting motor when you push the switch?
Does motor have a reset button?

I'm sure it's not under warranty, as they haven't made the 212 in probably over 20 years.
There could be a number of problems, and you'll have to do some testing to find out what happened. Anything other would just be guessing.
