Spark plugs in Honda Push Mower

Hi All-

Tune up time for my Troy Bilt push mower with a Honda SVG160 motor.

Factory spec online says to replace the plug with NGK BPR6ES., but unit was shipped from the factory and used for two years with a BPR5ES, which is a hotter running plug.

I live in Columbia, SC which is the hottest place on earth in the summer. Should I go with the spec, or the hotter plug with which it was shipped?

Tahnks,

Allen

I don't think you'll have a problem using either. Heat is an enemy of small engines, so I might be inclined to go with the cooler of the two.

That's what I'm thinking too. By the way, the motor is a GCV160 (not SVG160).
